Live Ticker:
On paper Citigroup's $212 billion equity to their $154 billion market cap looks pretty good.
But hold in mind that this is the company that uses $1.8 TRILLION dollars in assets to produce a $7 billion dollar net income.
And any company that creates a seperate "Comprehensive Income" report to hide the fact that they lost $4.9 Billion dollars in 2014 on currency transactions (oops) should be viewed with more than a little skepticism.
Recommendation: SELL
Citibank desperately needs to be chopped into pieces and re-organized.
They are monstrously inefficient (even for a bank). Splitting up Citibank would be a positive move for shareholders who could then begin to realize Citibank's untapped potential.
With $1.8 Trillion in assets Citibank literally holds the world economy in a death-grip. The words "too big to fail" apply just as much now as they ever did in 2008, and if Citibank fails the repercussions will shake the world's financial system to the core.
